That assumes that someone won WW1. All countries who were majorly involved (except America) was left with few able body men for military or other work. Shattered economies and a sweeping reforms and communist party upheavals .
No... no the Allies definitely won. The aim of the war was to 1) Halt German aggression, 2) Reclaim the land Germany took. The allies succeeded.
Italy and Japan felt largely ignored and cheated by the Treaty of Versailles. This led to the rise of Mussolini and his Fascist march on Trieste. Japan was given a series of Pacific islands formerly held by Germany, but these were more of an an economic drain than an asset.
agreed with Formless777. Italy was hoping make some territorial gain out of the WW1 but in the end it was not even called at the Versailles decision making.
