When Hitler increased the size of his army, England and France, a. took military action or b. did nothing?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it depends on what year your talking about he did this quite often

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b. did nothing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Around the 1930s . . .

OpenStudy (tad1):

Churchill advocated strongly thatBritain should increase their navy, but parliament was slow to tke action. Several other cabinet members thought that it was unnessasary

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B. They did nothing to stop him; all they did was try to appease him.

France and England wanted to do everything they could to keep another war from breaking out they even game Germany the Rhineland with no fight which Hitler then took as a sign of weakness from the other two powers. Germany was restricted on what warships they could make and size of army under the treaty of Versailles. Hitler broke all of these easily in the mid 30's. This question is poor I feel. Because Britain and France did beef up their military and gather allies together to work on a defense plan in case. The British navy did perform excursions just outside German waters as patrolling exercises. France also built and maintained the Maginot line. So they did do something while not a Military action by definition it far exceeds b. did nothing.

Whoever set this question needs to reconsider it. I agree with weirboy77's summation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It depend on what time, because only when Hitler invade Poland that the England went to war with them.

OpenStudy (anonymous):
