i'd say you install ubuntu as it is more user friendly and easy to use for beginner , fedora is also good but ubuntu will be best for you.

If you're a beginner in this field, go with an Ubuntu-based distro (Ubuntu itself, UberStudent, Linux Mint, whatever, there are tons of them). But if you're interested in learning more about the GNU/Linux OS-es, try something that's .. not that simple (e.g. Arch, Slackware, etc)
