i have a question about arithmetic series really complicated

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

where?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A Space Craft Is At An Altitude Of 5000m And Then At The 1st Second The Spacecraft Drops a 100m And Then Evry Second After That It Drops 5m .What's The New Altitude Of The Spacecraft

OpenStudy (anonymous):

After how many secs?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats making me confused is that they dont ask you after how many seconds

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Perhaps they want to know after how many secs will it be on the ground?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i dont think that its beyond that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Altitute = 5000 - 100 - 5 t = 4900 - 5 t = 0 5t = 4900 t = 980 + the second to fall 100m, 981 s.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what i did

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but the question is based on series

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't get it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

me either :s

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was on todays exam and someone coppied it because it will come in tomorrows exam too so i'm trying to solve it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont think so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because i heard people solved it like that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont think so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was on todays exam and someone coppied it because it will come in tomorrows exam too so i'm trying to solve it

OpenStudy (anonymous):
