Electromagnetic induction creates electrical energy by using which of the following types of energy? A. thermal energy B. magnetic energy C. potential energy D. mechanical energy

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

B. magnetic energy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks! (: Oh and nice, Johnny Bravo? HAHA

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which of the following can provide the energy source for a generator? A. moving wind B. moving water C. steam D. all of the above

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This one? (:

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Obv D. all of the above

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didnt even read the lesson over >.< OR the question LOL Sorry. I sm so stressed its not even funny

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Two more? According to Faraday's law, voltage can be changed by moving magnets away from the coil of wire. True False When a generator rotates a coil of wire in a magnetic field, which of the following is produced? A. magnetic domain B. magnetic pole C. electric field D. electric current

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

both, pass/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

>.<

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nobody wanna give me the answers!!! LOL I don't blame them. They prolly think I just don't wanna do the work,

OpenStudy (radar):

I am concerned about the first one. I don't believe the answer furnished is correct.

OpenStudy (radar):

There is normally motion relative to a coil and the magnetic field to create electrical energy. You will notice that electrical generators are powered either by gas engines, diesel engines, steam turbines, hydro etc. All of these provide rotation, and the rotation is mechanical. My choice would be mechanical for the first one.

OpenStudy (radar):

the second one looks good.Third one, voltage will be induced when magnets are moved into or away from a coil of wire (relative motion) True.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The second one is current... changing magnetic field induces an emf (voltage) which in turn causes a current to flow

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Voltage is induced in a coil by any changing magnetic field (change if the magnetic flux through it)

OpenStudy (radar):

Last one I think is D. It is worded kind of funny. Would of made more sense if it was worded like this. When a coil of wire is rotated in the magnetic field of a generator which of the following is produced." A generator gets it rotation from an external energy source. It more or less converts one kind of energy to electrical energy.
