In a triangle ABC, Angle B is 3 times Angle A. Angle C is 5 degrees less than 6 times Angle A. Find the size of the angles.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B = 3A C = 6A A + B+C = 180. You now have enough equations to find all the angles.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you take it from there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That second equation should be B = 6A - 5.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The whole system is as follows: B = 3A C = 6A - 5 A + B + C = 180.

Substitute 3A for B and 6A - 5 for C into the last equatiom You will then have an equation in one unknown. You should get A = 18.5 degrees. Use that to get the values for B and C. B should be 92.5 degrees and C should be 111 degrees.
