Penicillin is the drug of choice for syphilis. Benzathine penicillin 2.4million units single injection is adequate in early cases. In late cases adequate dose needed to be maintained for a period of 3-4 weeks. Doxycycline is use as an alternative in patients allergic to penicillin.
Partner also must be treated simultaneously as it is an STD.
