OpenStudy (susu):

how do u know its a geometric series and not a infinite?

OpenStudy (tad1):

geometric series has a constant ratio. A n infinite series means that if you try to sum all the terms, the sum will approach infinity

OpenStudy (anonymous):

example of an infinite gp is 1, 1/2, 1/4,1/8,1/16... the common ratio is 1/2 and the sum to infinity is a/1-r where a = first term and r = common ratio sum to infinity of this one is 1 (1 - 1/2) = 2

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the 2 are not mutually exclusive

OpenStudy (tad1):

thanks for the medal
