im trying to figure out what the control techniques are that Barnes and noble uses.

I dont even know where to begin..considering I dont know what a control technique is...I tried reading the annual report but having a hard time understanding it and finding this information...

as far as external, control techniques seem to be along the lines of advertising, marketing and other medias they use that successfully work with their product lines. Financially the only thing i can think of would be how the income to expenditures are controlled. Try looking at their business models if they have any and see if there is some method to how the company regulates everything to keep both product production, sales, and currency to be in equilibrium or at least how it is continually generated. ill try and send you whatever i can find.

If they have a business model, it might give you exactly what you need: product delivery, customer satisfaction, revenue, etc. all of which could be a form of controlling techniques the individual business decided to implement for its means of profiting.
