myininaya (myininaya):

OpenStudy (amistre64):

9*9*9 ----- maybe? 2

myininaya (myininaya):

thats not an integer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

450 -(100+90 +90)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

170

myininaya (myininaya):

the gre practice exam said it was 288

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry

myininaya (myininaya):

:( i hate these problems

OpenStudy (amistre64):

out of 1000 numbers; we have 500 odd numbers right?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

-100 for the single and double digits = 400

myininaya (myininaya):

and did how many odd numbers would there be without digit 5

OpenStudy (amistre64):

-50, not 100 lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the total 3 digit odd nos is 450

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now we just subtrct the nos with 5 in them

myininaya (myininaya):

omg i got it!

myininaya (myininaya):

8*9*4

OpenStudy (amistre64):

271 numbers out of 1000 have a 5 in them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

IM SUCH A FOOL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

AND M THINKING OF GIVING GRE

myininaya (myininaya):

the ones digit has to be odd but cannot be 5 so there are 4 numbers the ones digit can be the tens digit can be any number between 0 and 9 except 5 so there are 9 numbers the tens digit can be and the hundreds digit can 8 numbers since we have to have a digit number and it cannot be 5 also

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i got it

myininaya (myininaya):

3 digit number*

OpenStudy (amistre64):

\(\color{red}{\text{Good Job myin!! :)}}\)

myininaya (myininaya):

so hundreds digit cannot be 0

myininaya (myininaya):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8 ways to pick the hundreds digit 9 ways to pick the tens digit 4 ways to pick the units digit. Must be odd and not 5 8*9*4 = 288 I hope it's correct.
