Should we download Python v.2.5.6? The first assignment says to install v.2.5.4 but that is not listed on Python's download page.

I came across this problem too. Instead of going to the python website, I just clicked on the link in the "getting started" PDF that was right under mac installation (or pc installation). The correct version just popped up. Hope this works for you!

Thanks so much...it did. I found it.

there is no need to install Python v.2.5.6 , newer version will have all the features of older version, so go ahead and download newer version.

You can get any 2.x version. The only issue will be in trying to use python 3.x as there are a number of backward incompatibilities. I believe the current stable 2.x version is 2.7.2, so feel free to use that.
