factor by grouping 35x3 - 14x2 + 5x - 2 =

35x^3 and -14x^2 both contains a factor of 7x^2
So we factor out 7x^2 7x^2(5x-2) +5x-2
Now we see that both terms have (5x-2) so we factor that out (5x-2)(7x^2+1)
