Is the conjecture and proof made in this document http://staffweb.psdschools.org/ssayers/Mr_Sayers/IB%20Math%20HL/quartic.pdf valid for all quartic functions. Also, can it be stated that a condition of the conjecture made is that the second derivative of the respective quartic must have two unique real roots (i.e. to unique points of inflection)?
