Just a quick rundown of my favorite Ubuntu resources Ubuntu.com and wiki.ubuntu.com: One of the best things about open-source, and linux specifically, is that the official websites of the individual distributions usually offer quite a bit of information. Microsoft? Not so much. Ubuntu forums: Ubuntuforums.org is right up there with the wiki. Much better for more specific problems you may run across, or general questions you may have. It also helps to know, when installing a new OS, that there is a community of people willing to help you to the best of their ability. Ubuntu Guide: Many die-hard Ubuntu users don’t like this site, because they just give you answers, without explainations. Or some such nonsense. I happen to disagree, for a quick link to the application you need, or a quick fix to the bug you’ve found, theres no place better. Linux forums: Finally we have LinuxForums. If, for some reason, all the other sites are down, or you just don’t really like going to a URL with “Ubuntu” in it, check this one. There are experts in just about every aspect of open source perusing the boards, so they’re sure to have the bit of information you’re looking for. I recommend this forum for all distributions.
