OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you square matricies

OpenStudy (amistre64):

square as in [A]^2 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (amistre64):

its just muliplying matrixes then; they have to have the same number of columns on the left as rows on the right for starters

OpenStudy (amistre64):

\begin{array}c [a&b&c]&*&|d|\\ &&&&|e|&=ad+be+cf \\ &&&&|f| \end{array}

OpenStudy (amistre64):

\[\left[\begin{matrix}a& b\\ c&d \end{matrix}\right]*\left[\begin{matrix}a & b \\ c & d\end{matrix}\right]=\left[\begin{matrix}(a.a+b.c) & (a.b+b.d) \\ (c.a+d.c) & (c.b+d.d)\end{matrix}\right]\] pretty sure i did that right :)
