OpenStudy (kayy):

Identify the variation as direct, inverse, joint or combined. xy = c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

guess it is inverse since you can write this as \[y=\frac{c}{x}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its inverse proportion

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x and y are inversely proportional. Im going to make up numbers and show why. lets say c = 20 two numbers that multiply to 20 are x = 1, y = 20 another solution is x = 2, y = 10 and also x = 4, y = 5 Notice how one variable goes up (x), the other goes down. Thats what it means to be "inversely" proportional
