how can i find th domain for this? y=1/(6 x^2 +3 x + 16) thanks guys!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the domain is all real numbers except what makes the denominator 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nothing makes it 0, so the domain is all real numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the roots dont make it 0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

such as a problem like y=(x- 6)/(x^2- 7 x + 6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there were no real roots for the denominator (x-6)(x-1) so all real numbers except 1,6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh ok that totally makes sense now, since it was a negative in the square root! thanks ur awesome!
