Hi, I'm having problems with linear equations..anyone care to help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Go for it :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok..hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x-3y=6 and 3y-2x=-6

And you are trying to find the solution?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes.. it says ... : Solve each system graphically. Be sure to check your solution. If a system has an infinite number of solutions, use set−builder notation to write the solution set. If a system has no solution, state this.

Okay, notice if you take the first equation and multiply it by a - you have the exact same as the second. Which means, they are the same line. So if you want set builder notation you have: \[\left\{ x,y \in \mathbb{R}|y=(2/3)x-2 \right\}\] Of course, there are multiple ways to do set builder notation where this would work. You could solve it for x as well.
