How do I simplify this problem: 10x*12*25y/2z*30x*20y.... do understand... please help!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I assume it is a fraction with 3 terms as the numerator and 3 as the denominator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can either simplify the numerator by multiply all the terms and getting 3000xy doing the same for the denominator 1200xyz and then simplifying 5/(2z) the xy on the numerator cancel with the xy in the denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or you can cancel terms and then simplify but you get the same answer 5/(2z)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thats what I had but my teacher said i was wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what did the teacher say was the correct answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

he didnt he just told me to re do it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it written as a fraction or exactly as above?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so if you write this fraction hence : 10x*12*25y ---------- = so here you can seeing what you can simplify 2z*30x*20y - so if you simplify 10x with 30x you gat that in denominator will remain3 because 3 multiplied with 10x equal 30x - i think that with 12 you want writing one z again and hence you can simplify 12z with 2z what resulte to you 6 in nominator because 6 multiplied with 2z equal 12z - 25y you can simplify with 5y and hence in nominator will remain 5 and in denominator 4 because 5 multiplied with 5y equal 25y and because 5y multiplied with 4 equal 20y so hence will remain to you from this fraction 10x*12z*25y 6*5 30 5 ----------- = ---- = --- = --- 2z*30x*20y 3*4 12 2 - hope so much that you have understood it all clearly

yrs i understand clearly. i did it the long way and came up with the same answer. but thanks you again.
