can anyone tell me how to avoid seams when packing multiple lightmaps in an atlas? do you have any resources on this? Thanks!

Don't know how low level you're working but one thing you can try is to not let the mapper shrink down UVs to fit textures into atlases. This can sometimes cause artifacts, especially if you end up with alternately shrunk areas next to each other. Another issue that sometimes occurs is when two textures are placed next to each other in the atlas (but are not near each other in the world) are blended together at the edges. If possible, force some kind of a space between textures in the atlas if that's the case (you should be able to check this with a quick look at your lightmap textures).
