it uses matrices, which was really confusing to get used to, but when you do, it's really useful. but as a beginner, i'd always recommend wolfram mathematica (if you can choose)

I used MATLAB some 4 years ago for a semester. I would need a refresher to remember the gist of it but if I remember correctly it was fairly similar to "basic" and could be used with C++
