I am bad with this (rational expressions) and need help z+8/z-4 where do I start

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's (z+8)/(z-4) or z+(8/4) -4? and what do you actually want to know?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are you supposed to to with this? \[\frac{z+8}{z-4}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(z+8)/(z-4) I think I got it, I must make the denom equal to zero right..which is 4 is that right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

helps to know what the question is. if it is "what is the domain?" then the answer is all real numbers except 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if z=4, u get an impossible expression, a/0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, it askes to find all the numbers for which the number is undefined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

than satellite73 is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this seems so simple..but yet this is hard for me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you write exactly what it is asked?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure next q i will

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find the values for which the rational expression is undefinded (4x+4)/x^2 +4x+3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, english is not my language, but a guess undefined is when u get an impossible expression, u cant divide, so in x/y that happens when y=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol yes undefined my bad sorry
