if tangent is a function of nuumbers, is that the 'same' as cos and sine?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tangent is defined as the sine of a number divided by the cosine of a number. For example, if you want to find the tangent of 50 degrees: tan(50)=sin(50)/cos(50)=1.19 hope that helps :)
