Sammy Sosa throws the baseball with initial speed of 145 feet per second at a 20 degree angle to the horizontal. The ball leaves Sammy’s hand at 5 feet high. When does the ball reach its maximum height?

initial vertical speed would be 145sin(20) ... the time when the ball reaches the highest point is when the vertical speed is zero. lets use the equation vf = vo + at ... just plug in vf to be 0 and vo to be what we calculated and a is -9.81
that value for gravity is in m/s^2, but in the problem hes using ft, so use -32.174 ft/s^2 instead.
