Sammy Sosa throws the baseball with initial speed of 145 feet per second at a 20 degree angle to the horizontal. The ball leaves Sammy’s hand at 5 feet high. When does the ball reach its maximum height?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

initial vertical speed would be 145sin(20) ... the time when the ball reaches the highest point is when the vertical speed is zero. lets use the equation vf = vo + at ... just plug in vf to be 0 and vo to be what we calculated and a is -9.81

that value for gravity is in m/s^2, but in the problem hes using ft, so use -32.174 ft/s^2 instead.
