find the sum of <3,2> and <2,-5>

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are these vecotors?? polar or rectangular? What are they?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's all the problem gave me, I'm guessing they're vectors though

Vector's are added by component.. <a,b> + <c,d> = <a+c, b+d>

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kk <a,b> + <c,d> = <a+c,b+d>. The standard vecotor addition rule. Another tip for dealing with vectors \[<a,b> = \left(\begin{matrix}a \\ b\end{matrix}\right)\] which is a 1 x 2 martrix. Matricies are special vectors. Hence all the rules of matricies are inheridted by vectors.
