Well there's two options here. It could be 'greater' or equal, or it could be 'less' or equal. If it were greater, and x was say 3. What is the greatest integer greater than 3?

i believe it is less than, for example [5.4] = 5 [5] = 5 [4.99999999999999999] = 4

Indeed, because greater would make no sense.. ;p
