Select the following numbers that cannot represent the area of a polygon. a. 68 b. 40 c. -5 d. square root 30 e. 0 f. -200

OpenStudy (anonymous):

doesnt it depend with the measurements given?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

e i suppose

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'd say c, d and f because an area has to be positive...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

e cannot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C, E, and F. For A, a square with sides of length sqrt{68} would have area 68. This would work B and D as well. But as other users have said, area must be positive.

right - how the heck did i miss the minuses!!!!!!!
