Practice makes perfect. What database software are you using?

Try learning perl and/or php. there are some really good books on each and I would recommend learning them.

You can do a Google search for Microsoft Access Tutorials to begin with. You don't mention which version you are using, but there are tutorials from several versions out there. That being said, the only way to become a master at anything is to practice, practice, practice. Even though Access is not truly a relational database, you'll want to learn something about relational database design as well. You'll want to learn how and why to choose the fields you do, how to group those fields into logical tables, how to normalize those tables, how to establish relationships between the tables and which types of relationships to use when, what the difference between primary keys and foreign keys is, how to write queries not just through the Access interface but directly using SQL as well, how to backup and restore databases, how to establish permission levels for various users, what ETL is and how to use it (though it's not really all that applicable to Access). Those are just a few places to start. If you can find a class in your area on database design, that would help as well. You're beginning a long voyage but it is also one that can be very enjoyable and profitable too. Best of luck!
