what is the formula for perpendicular slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is the opposite reciprocal of the line it is parallel to m=a/b then the slope of the perpendicular line is -b/a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Another way of saying the same thing is that if you multiply the slopes of a line and it's perpendicular you get -1 ie m (line) * m (perpendicular) = -1
