hearty's house is 39 miles away from her work, she drives to work everyday and picks up susan on the way. She is able to average 40 mph on the trip. if she drives 1/4 hour longer w/ susan than without her, how far does she live from susan's house?

let distance to susans house be x and time to her house be t 40(t + t + 1/4) = 39 so distance x = 40 x t
