2. An object is moving at a speed as reflected by the curve, s = t2 where s is the speed in m/s and t is the time in seconds. Estimate the distance covered by the object from t = 0s to t= 5s.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

d= rt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since the speed is always positive, the distance = integral ( 0..5) t^2 dt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

= (125/3) m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

41.67m

OpenStudy (amistre64):

is this asking for the length of the curve as distance traveled? or asking for a linear distance from starting point to stopping point?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

linear distance obviously

OpenStudy (anonymous):

says the speed is "described" by the curve, doesnt say its moving along the curve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

described, reflected, same thing

May i know if i can use other methods insead of a maths method?
