we know the area of the square is 8
the formula to find the area of a circle is pi r^2
so in order to find r (radius of circle), we have to find the diameter
we find that by using pythagorean theroem and finding the line going diagonally through the square a.k.a the dimaeter of the circle
OpenStudy (anonymous):
once you find that, half it to get the radius
OpenStudy (anonymous):
half length od side =sqrt2...ok?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
use pythogoras theorem to find radius
OpenStudy (anonymous):
once you find r, put into the area of a circle formula
and ur left with 4pi
