if i have a few points on a graph how can I find the function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if its a graphing calculator its easy. are you using one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

determine the slope the change in y value divided by the change in x-value then pick one point and substitute it for x and y to solve for b y=mx+b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it might not necessarily be a linear function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

draw it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

see if the slope is the same, if not, you can graph it and see what it looks like if it is quadratic use 3 points and substitute for x and y in ax^2+bx+c=y 3 times and solve for a,b, and c
