Solution: x = -1/11

kianap4, is this \[\frac{8}{x}+6=\frac{7}{x}-5\] or is it \[\frac{8}{x+6}=\frac{7}{x-5}\]?

since it's an equation with an equal sign, we are allowed to flip it:\[(X+6)/8 = (X-5)/7\] Then with simple multiplications on both sides, we should be able to eliminate the fractions. \[7(X+6)/8 = (X-5)\] \[7X + 42 = 8(X-5)\] Just distribute and preform basic algebra to get the value of X, which is supposed to be X=82
