I want to be a software tester. What qualification should i need, (I mean special qualification)?

That qestion is so broad that there's no single answer to it. I look up in Google and there's so many info about it, like most of the things. You need a degree in IT or Software Development You need experience You need preparation Those are just basic stuff, to be a tester, a developer, a designer you need to have a degree in technology, doesn't matter if you are specializing in X or Y area, you need preparation, training and a degree. Like most jobs, you need to have a college degree and also certifications will help, certifications in technologies specificatelly. Certifications help in many ways, first if you are a brand new graduate from college, if you get certify in X or Y technology by X or Y company that gives you advantage and credibility to your preparation and degree, still years of experience count, but being certify tells the ppl that may employ you that you know the stuff well, even if you are a brand new graduate or doesn't have any or much experience, except the one you gather in college.

You got a degree You got work experience You could get specific technologies certifications You could get certify for being a certify Software Tester... I found this in Wikipedia, didn't had any idea it existed... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Software_Testing_Qualifications_Board http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISTQB_Certified_Tester There's more info in the External Link part there. I think this certifications would make you an official software tester, giving you more knowledge and therefore more job opportunities. Pkus if you get certify in specific technologies, plus your degree and past preparation you will be set for successfulness :) Hope this helps more...
