Evaluate.. please show how you got to the answer please need to understand... i am lost.. -y -(-2y-4), for y= -3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where you see a y put a -3 and use parentheses!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[-(-3)-(-2(-3)-4)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now it is order o'operation time \[3-(6-4)\] \[3-(2)\] \[1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh and also of course \[-(-3)=3\] that is why you really need to use parentheses!
