antiderivative. given the graph of f(x) passes thru the point (6,3) and the slope of its tangent line at (x,f(x)) is 2x+6. what is f(5)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hrmm, so we want to integrate 2x+6 right? x^2+6x+C and we know that 6 in that should give us 3 as y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6^2+6*6+C=3 solve for C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C=-69 so x^2+6x-69. plug in 5 for x and i get -19?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that way off?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea i plugged into the calculator and F(5) was -14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yeah that's what i meant -14. made a arithmetic error when i checked it
