Every one has their own version of hell. Even if multiple people's version of hell is a place infested with spiders, not all of them will be the same spider, and more their spiders will all act according to that persons personal fears. That is how this quote stood out in my mind.

To me it seems as though it's referring to things going from bad to worse. Fresh hell, as opposed to the regular one. An unfortunate life, topped off by a house being foreclosed on, for example. That's my best guess without context.
