How would you simplify this complex expression: (12) (x+7)^3 (3x+1)^3 + (3)(x+7)^2 (3x+1)^4 ~ Could you also please include an explanation as to how you went about simplifying.
[3(x+7)^2 (3x+1)^3] [4(x+7) + (3x +1)] 3 (x+7)^2 (3x+1)^3 (7x+29)
Hi mikekacz! Sorry for the late response~ but I had a question. On the left side of the addition sign (in the original equation) there is (3x+1)^3 and on the right side there is (3x+1)^4. I was wondering on your answer, on the first line, the very last (3x+1) there is only one, not four. Did that somehow cancel out on both sides? I wasn't quite sure where the other three went. Could you please clarify a bit because I'm not understanding exactly how you are able to cancel out some of the expression..? Thanks so much!
