A circle is divided into 12 equal arcs. Find the measure of one of those arcs.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have the diameter or radius?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well then it's just \[\pi D/12\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't have the diameter though, that's all the question says.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well write the equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would it be pi x/12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The problem has too little information. Given the Diameter, D, it would be pi*D/12.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Given the radius, R, it would be 2*pi*R/12.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

30 degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's really not the measure of the arc. That would certainly be the measure of the angle, though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the measurement of the arc is equal to the measurement of the central angle which is 30.
