15x-10y=-80 6x+8y=-80 can someone help me with this problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there are several method to solve simultaneous equations....show me what you've done so far and i'll try and to help you wherever you got stuck.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

evern i dont know if your supposed to combine the numbers or solve it like a eqation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats simple multiply 15x-10y=-80 by 8 then multiply 6x =8y=-80 by 10 then see wat u get it will be easy then to solve the equatoin

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://www.myalgebra.com/default.aspx go here , it sovles a LOT of problems

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first u should get either x of both equations or y of both equations equal then u will be able to cancel any one and u can solve the latter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if u get the x in both equation cancelled then u can find y and then u cansubstiute in any one equation and find x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

another method is to multiply each equation by a constant so that a variable cancels out .In this case eq1 *8 and eq2 *10 ;then add them l.h.s adds to l.hs. and r.h.s to r.h.s ... the term cancels outy
