do you know what the distributive property means?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just realy need help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the distributive property says this: a(b+c)=ab+ac. basically it says that if two numbers are being added or subtracted, and their answer is being multiplied by something, that is the same as if they were each multiplied by themselves first and then added together. sorry, hard for me to explain, it's been a while since i learned that one

A * (4+5) = 4A + 5A. this is an example of the distributive rule. Hence, 2 * (8+9) = (2*8) + (2*9) = 16 + 18
