hay does any one know how tell if an individual has a prolonged PQ wave on an EKG

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the pq wave is the atrio despolarization it is the first wave in the ECG it is usually small

ECG Measured in horizontal direction----> 1 small division (SD) = 1mm = 0.04 sec In electrocardiography, the PR interval(PQ WAVE) is measured from the beginning of the P wave to the beginning of the QRS complex. It is usually 120 to 200 ms long. On an ECG tracing, this corresponds to 3 to 5 small boxes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PR_interval Count the number of small boxes and multiply it with 0.04 sec. Normal duration of PR interval(PQ WAVE) is 120 to 200 ms=0.12 to 0.20 sec Any prolongation beyond 0.2 sec is considered as PR interval prolongation.
