what's to be done? simplify? on the numerator is a difference of squares = (3x - 5y)(3x + 5y)/(3x + 5y) = 3x - 5y, as long as y is not -3x/5

you can factor out the top part of the equation into (3x - 5y) and (3x +5y) so the new equation looks like this (3x-5y)(3x+5y) / (3x+5y) the bottom (3x+5y) cancels the top (3x+5y) so all you have left over is (3x-5y)
