what are three methods for visualizing a function of two variables?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Graphing, numerically(such as a table of values) and algebraically. Is there any other information about the question you could provide?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was a two part question. A) What is a function of two variables? B) Describe three methods for visualizing a function of two variables? I was thinking more of contour, traces, and something else

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A two variabled function comes in many forms such as y = 3x + 1 or y = x^2 to name just a couple. The word function means an equation which passes the vertical line test or does not repeat any x values(for example (2,3) and (2,-7) are not "allowed" on the same graph). Do you have any examples you could use to help you answer this question? I cannot recall anything about contours or traces.
