HELP! A total of $50,000 is invested in two bonds the pay 6.75% and 8.25% interest. total interest is $3,900 form a system of equations for this data? (elimination or substitution)

amount@6.75 = 50,000[39/500 - .0825]/[.0675-.0825] ... maybe :)

15000 @ 6.75% would leave 35000 @ 8.25%


but that really doesnt answer the question does it :)

a(.0675) + b(.0825) = 3900
