Which of the following IS a function? a. {(0,0),(0,1),(1,2),(2,0)} b. {(1,0,),(1,2),(1,3),(1,4)} c. {(0,1),(1,2),(0,3),(3,4)} d. {(0,1),(1,2),(2,3),(3,4)}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D, because it associates every x value to one and only y value. The other ones have duplicates (the first maps 0 both to 0 and 1; the second maps 1 to 0,2,3 and 4; the third maps 0 to 1 and 3)

OpenStudy (aroub):

a fuction is a relation such that no two distinct ordered pars have the same first component so the answer here is d.(0,1),(1,2),(2,3),(3,4) bec. as u can see the first component are different

Thanks!! :)

OpenStudy (aroub):

did u understand?? / anytime! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I was thinking D the whole time, just had to make sure.
