41/2m-12=39/2 [a fraction eqation]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Man, you've got to learn how to do this stuff on your own. Multiply 2 through the whole thing to get 41m-24=39, then go from there.

one quick question why*2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its 2m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on - what is the denominator on left 2m or (2m-12)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You multiply through with 2 because it is the common denominator. By multiiplying through, it cancels out the denonimators and makes everything a whole number. That is tons easier to deal with.
