BE is tangent at C. AC and CD are chords such that the measure of arc DC=72° and the measure of arc AD=88°. Find m∠ECD, ∠ECA and m∠ACD.

helppp

OpenStudy (anonymous):

don't u have radius for the circle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uhmmmm

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ECD is half of arcCD; ECA is half of arcACD; and ACD is half of arcAC

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. 72°; 160°; 88° B. 36°; 44°; 88° C. 36°; 80°; 44°

OpenStudy (amistre64):

36 is the first one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, those two chords form what is called an inscribed angle, and an inscribed angle always has half of the angle of the arc it subtends, so angle acd is 44.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

360 - 88 = 272, 272=72 = 200 for arcAC but that doesnt seem to play nice they might mean ACD is 88 degrees tho, hard to tell

OpenStudy (amistre64):

im gonna guess its B ..... but i got no real proof for that

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ack .... wasnt seeing the picture good ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're sure that dce is 36? Because ACD is definitely 44. So that would make ECA just equal to DCE + ACD = 36 + 44 = 80

OpenStudy (amistre64):

im gonna say C :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah. It's c.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i was dyslexing the letters ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For one thing, you can see that the first and last angle should sum to form the second angle. That disqualifies B as a choice.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm with c
