factor 4x2+81-36x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(2x - 9)^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but how did you get to that answer? and what is the symbol before the 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The symbol before the 2 is a caret (^); it indicates that what follows is an exponent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x^2 means x squared.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow....im just completely lost here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they haven't even gotten to that symbol in the text book yet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your problems is: 4x^2 - 36x + 81. (2x - 9) (2x - 9) = 4x^2 - 36x + 81 (2x - 9) (2x - 9) = (2x - 9)^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They won't cover this in the textbook. We used here because we can't easily type an exponent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok.....i understand now lol
